Job Description
As a Millwright, you will be responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of machinery and equipment in grain processing facilities. A thorough knowledge of mechanics and proficiency in using industrial tools such as drills, power saws, cutting torches, grinders, welders, and measuring equipment are essential for performing your duties safely and accurately. Regular inspections of machinery are necessary to predict and prevent mechanical failures, ensuring safety for yourself and other workers. Attention to detail is paramount in this role.
Responsibilities
Install, repair, and maintain machinery and equipment in grain processing facilities.
Utilize industrial tools safely and accurately.
Inspect machinery regularly to predict and prevent mechanical failures.
Perform stick welds in the field.
Work collaboratively in a crew of 2-5 millwrights.
Perform work on new constructions, remodels, expansions, and repairs in commercial agricultural buildings.
Essential Skills
Experience in construction, welding, and electrical troubleshooting.
1-2 years of stick welding experience.
Ability to lift 50-75 pounds.
Comfort working at heights.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Knowledge of blueprint reading and installation techniques.
Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and structural welding.
Experience with grain bins and conveyers.

Work Environment
Millwrights often work outdoors, facing extreme hot or cold temperatures. The role involves significant manual labor, including bending and lifting. You will work an average of 40 hours per week, with 45-50 hours during harvest season. The typical workday is from 7am to 5pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. Daily travel to the shop is required before departing to job sites, and drive time is separate from on-site working hours. Mileage pay is calculated separately from overtime. Current contractors typically see 1-3 hours of overtime per week.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
