Maintenance Electrician - Direct Hire
The Maintenance Electrician supports plant operations by maintaining and repairing all property and production assets, with a strong focus on industrial electrical systems. You ensure the reliable operation of production, packaging, processing equipment, and utility systems by performing both planned and unplanned maintenance in electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, pneumatic, and hydraulic disciplines.
Responsibilities
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production, packaging, processing, and utility equipment to minimize downtime and maintain consistent operation.
Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and electrical issues on industrial equipment, including 240-volt and 480-volt systems.
Maintain, repair, and install electrical wiring, conduit, and related components for industrial equipment and plant infrastructure.
Use electrical schematics, blueprints, and ladder logic diagrams to identify faults and guide repairs.
Troubleshoot and repair Allen-Bradley PLC-controlled equipment, including fillers, conveyors, and other automated systems.
Inspect, maintain, and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems and components used in production and packaging processes.
Support maintenance of electronic, computer-controlled, and process control equipment to ensure accurate and reliable operation.
Perform maintenance tasks such as lubricating, cleaning, and adjusting mechanical and electrical components on material handling and packaging equipment.
Work with motor control, relay control, and process control systems to ensure safe and efficient equipment performance.
Install, bend, and secure conduit for new and existing electrical runs as needed.
Carry out maintenance repairs in a cold, wet production environment while adhering to all safety and quality standards.
Document maintenance activities and communicate equipment status to relevant team members to support continuous operation.
Essential Skills
Hands-on experience with industrial electrical maintenance, including 240-volt and 480-volt systems.
Proficiency in electrical troubleshooting, including three-phase power systems.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams.
Experience troubleshooting and repairing Allen-Bradley PLC systems using ladder logic.
Strong troubleshooting skills for mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
Experience working with electrical wiring, conduit installation, and conduit bending.
Ability to diagnose and repair issues on fillers, conveyors, and other production and packaging equipment.
Experience working with motor control, relay control, and process control systems.
Capability to perform preventive maintenance tasks on industrial equipment in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to work safely and effectively in a cold, wet production environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with photo eyes and other industrial sensors.
Experience in maintaining electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic, computer-controlled equipment, PLC, and/or HVAC systems.
Experience with lubricating, cleaning, and maintaining material handling and packaging equipment.
Familiarity with industrial repair techniques, including basic welding, is beneficial.
Experience in industrial environments such as food or beverage processing facilities is a plus.

Work Environment
This role operates in a cold, wet production environment within a facility that produces ice cream products for multiple brands and flavor lines. You work around industrial production, packaging, and processing equipment, including electrically, mechanically, hydraulically, pneumatically, and PLC-controlled systems. The position requires regular hands-on work with 240-volt and 480-volt electrical systems, conveyors, fillers, material handling equipment, and process control systems. Uniforms are provided, and you are expected to follow all safety, hygiene, and facility guidelines appropriate for a food manufacturing setting.
