Low Voltage Cable Installer (Data Center) - Denver Area
Location: Denver, Colorado
Job Type: Contract (16 Weeks)
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8-10-hour days (40-50 hrs/week)
Pay Rate: $23-$26/hour
Overview
We are seeking skilled Low Voltage Cable Installers to support structured cabling projects in a data center environment. This role involves installing, dressing, labeling, testing, and terminating copper and fiber optic cabling, as well as assisting with network equipment buildouts.
This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a high-demand industry while working alongside experienced technicians.
Key Responsibilities
Install and route CAT5, CAT6, and fiber optic cabling
Perform cable dressing, labeling, and material management
Execute rack and stack and server cabinet buildouts
Rough-in and finalize fiber pathways and structured cabling systems
Terminate and test copper and fiber cables
Support patching, splicing, and troubleshooting
Use testing equipment (e.g., Fluke testers) to ensure quality
Maintain clean and organized job sites
Read and interpret floor plans, drawings, and specifications
Required Qualifications
At least 1 year of experience in low voltage or structured cabling OR relevant trade/technical school training
Experience with:
Cable installation and pulling
Termination and patching
Cable labeling and organization
Familiarity with CAT5, CAT6, and/or fiber optic cabling
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in confined spaces
Strong work ethic, communication skills, and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in data center or commercial environments
Rack & stack or cabinet buildout experience
Fiber splicing (fusion, ribbonized)
Experience with Fluke/OTDR testing tools
Knowledge of IDF/MDF buildouts and pathway installation
Understanding of cable color codes and QA best practices
Requirements
OSHA 10 Certification (required before start)
Must provide own basic hand tools
Required PPE:
Composite toe boots
Hard hat
Safety glasses
High-visibility vest
Ability to pass a drug screening
Work Environment
Indoor and exterior work within a data center setting
Physically active role requiring standing, walking, bending, lifting, and reaching
May work in tight or confined spaces

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $26.00/hr.
