Job Summary:
The Senior Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for journeyman level mechanical modification, repair, maintenance and overhaul of facilities and manufacturing equipment. The Senior Maintenance Mechanic also designs and fabricates tooling and parts as necessary.
Essential Functions:
Perform journeyman level mechanical repairs, design, modifications and improvements to all manufacturing equipment and facilities infrastructure, designs tools, equipment, and machinery
Complete tasks commonly associated with mechanics, pipefitters, welders, machinists, and millwrights including installation and alignment of equipment, pipe and tubing, plumbing design and installation, machining of parts and materials, repair of rotating and reciprocating machines, welding, and general service
Work with various teams including Facilities and Manufacturing Engineers, operators, management, and maintenance personnel to design and apply new tools or modify existing tools and equipment
Perform routine preventative maintenance activities to maximize equipment reliability and lifecycle
Estimate and manage projects including time and materials
Provide leadership supporting facilities and maintenance activities in coordination with Maintenance Coordinator and Supervisor
Provide evaluation and feedback of preventive, predictive, or condition based equipment maintenance programs results to improve reliability
Maintain accurate records in computer maintenance management software by documenting activities and results contributing to future evaluation and improvement opportunities
Follow directions and work schedules according to the assigned Maintenance Coordinator or Supervisor and the work order processing system
Non-Essential Functions:
Participate in hazardous materials and first responder team (HAZMAT - training provided)
Maintain clean and organized work space and equipment
Requisition and purchase required materials; Specify, procure and maintain minimum stock inventory and process purchase transactions
Support other team members in their primary job functions, cross training and employee growth strategies
Support team activities and improvement efforts in Kaizen, 5S and maintenance and facilities events and practices
Support team members including hands-on training, design drawing reviews, technical tool use and team projects
Additional tasks may include security badge processing, personnel office moves, etc.
Minimum Qualifications:
Experience: 5+ years of experience in the repair of industrial and manufacturing equipment
Knowledge : Knowledge of journeyman level mechanics, engineering principles, machinist math, design drawing, metallurgy, and welding
Skills/Abilities: Skills in mechanical design and fabrication, machine repair and rebuilding, and machining tools operation; Skills in design, fabrication, and installation of custom designed plumbing and tooling using mills, lathes, welders, saws, buffers, grinders, benders, flaring tools, torch soldering, etc.; Excellent communication skills and tact; Ability to work with other facilities and production personnel as a team on projects and to adapt to changing instructions or conditions; Good hand-eye coordination, ability to climb and work on 12ft ladders and work from heights up to 25ft on man lifts
Education/Certification: High school diploma or equivalent

Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment
Manufacturing areas may require the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps and any other required PPE
May be exposed to unusual environmental conditions such as loud noises, cold temperatures, confined spaces, dust or fumes
Conditions include typical industrial environments including indoor, outdoor, and year round rooftop
Must be able to work at heights
Tasks may include the use of ladders, stairs, scaffolding, lifts, hand and power tools, meters and probes
Physical locations may require lying in prone position, kneeling, squatting, lifting, and occasional overhead reaching
Physical requirements include lifting, climbing, ladder work, forklift driving (training provided) and use of tools requiring physical strength and dexterity
Some work may take place in production areas where discipline is required to reduce distractions for other employees
Some weekend and extended hours are required based on equipment availability and production needs

Salary Range: $34.52 - $44.62 USD Hourly
