Job Title: Senior Maintenance Mechanic / Maintenance Technician III
Job Description
This role leads a team of service technicians in the installation, troubleshooting, and repair of automated packaging and distribution equipment within a live warehouse environment. The Senior Maintenance Mechanic designs practical solutions for complex maintenance challenges, manages technical projects, and ensures high levels of system reliability and uptime for conveyors, robotics, and sorting machines.
Responsibilities
Lead service technicians in the installation, commissioning, and repair of automated packaging and distribution equipment, including conveyors, robotics, and sorting machines.
Diagnose and troubleshoot complex electrical and mechanical faults on automated warehouse systems to restore equipment to full operation quickly and safely.
Perform proactive and preventative maintenance tasks on a wide range of site equipment to maximize reliability and reduce unplanned downtime.
Carry out reactive repairs and fault diagnosis in a live distribution warehouse environment while minimizing disruption to operations.
Use modern diagnostic tools, test equipment, and maintenance technologies to maximize equipment effectiveness and improve system performance.
Design and implement practical solutions for difficult maintenance problems, including improvements to equipment reliability and maintainability.
Manage maintenance projects from planning through completion, ensuring work meets quality, safety, and operational standards.
Uphold and enforce all health and safety policies and practices, ensuring that maintenance work complies with established procedures and regulations.
Support the development, coaching, and progression of on-site apprentices and junior technicians by providing guidance, training, and technical mentorship.
Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to prioritize work, coordinate equipment downtime, and maintain high levels of system availability.
Essential Skills
Proven experience troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining complex automated warehouse equipment such as conveyors, robotics, and sorting machines.
Strong electrical troubleshooting skills, including diagnosing faults and performing safe electrical repairs on industrial equipment.
Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills, including repair and replacement of mechanical components in automated systems.
Demonstrated ability to perform proactive and preventative maintenance on a wide range of industrial and warehouse equipment.
Experience performing reactive repairs and fault diagnosis in a live distribution or similar high-throughput environment.
Ability to lead and guide service technicians, providing technical direction and support during installations and repairs.
Capability to design practical solutions for complex maintenance problems and contribute to reliability improvements.
Solid understanding of and adherence to health and safety policies and practices in an industrial or warehouse setting.
Ability to use modern tools and diagnostic equipment to maximize equipment effectiveness and system uptime.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in a reliability and maintenance engineering environment focused on automated systems.
Experience in mentoring or supporting the development of apprentices and junior technicians.
Experience managing maintenance-related projects, including planning, execution, and documentation.
Familiarity with automated packaging and distribution operations and their equipment requirements.

Work Environment
This position is based in a live distribution warehouse that operates advanced automated packaging and material-handling systems. You will work 12-hour shifts on either a 4:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. or 4:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. schedule, typically Sunday through Wednesday or Wednesday through Saturday. The environment involves working around conveyors, robotics, and sorting machines, performing both proactive maintenance and reactive repairs while systems are in operation. You will use modern diagnostic tools and equipment and follow established health and safety procedures appropriate for an industrial warehouse setting.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $42.65 - $42.65/hr.
