Are you looking to grow your career in commissioning and mission-critical construction? We're seeking a Commissioning Manager Assistant / Commissioning Agent to support a large-scale data center project in Texas.
In this role, you'll work directly with experienced commissioning leaders and cross-functional teams, gaining hands-on exposure to complex electrical and mechanical systems while helping drive projects across the finish line-from construction to full operations.

What You'll Do
Support the planning, development, and execution of commissioning activities across critical building systems
Assist in creating and maintaining commissioning plans, schedules, and readiness documentation
Coordinate with construction, MEP, and commissioning teams to align activities with project milestones
Help manage communication and deliverables with the owner's commissioning agent
Participate in functional testing to verify system performance against design and operational requirements
Track and help resolve deficiencies identified during testing and commissioning
Support system readiness and turnover, ensuring a smooth transition into operations
Attend key project meetings (OAC, coordination, trade meetings) and contribute to commissioning progress
Maintain and update commissioning documentation, including:
Checklists and test scripts
Deficiency logs and turnover packages
System readiness and completion tracking
Help monitor and report progress metrics such as test results, issue resolution, and schedule alignment
Collaborate in the field to verify that electrical and mechanical systems are properly installed and tested
Assist with training site personnel on system operations and performance expectations
What You Bring
High school diploma or GED required
1-3 years of construction field experience (commercial or data center strongly preferred)
Basic knowledge of construction processes, scheduling, and safety practices
Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
Familiarity with electrical and/or MEP systems
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
Solid communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams
Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word required)
Nice-to-Have (But Not Required)
Associate degree or construction-related education
Experience with data center environments or mission-critical systems
Background in electrical construction or MEP trades
Familiarity with tools like Procore, CXAlloy, or similar platforms
Advanced Excel skills (tracking logs, reporting, dashboards)
Experience participating in construction coordination or OAC meetings
Exposure to commissioning processes or supporting system testing
Work Environment
This position is based on site at a data center in Barstow, Texas, working closely with the Commissioning Manager, construction teams, and the owner's commissioning agent. The role is field-focused, requiring regular presence in active construction areas and equipment rooms, with exposure to typical construction site conditions such as noise, dust, and varying temperatures. Work involves frequent use of computers and software tools, including Microsoft Office, Procore, and CXAlloy, to manage documentation and reporting. The schedule follows standard construction project hours, with potential for extended hours as needed to support critical commissioning milestones. This is a contract-to-hire role with an expected duration of approximately 6-9 months, with the possibility of extension. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, six paid holidays, and at least one week of paid time off, with the opportunity to qualify for additional PTO if the contract is extended.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $75000.00/hr.
