Job Description
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production equipment, with a primary focus on electrical systems, controls, instrumentation, and automation. This role also supports mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and general maintenance needs to minimize downtime, improve equipment performance, and maintain a safe work environment.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical issues on industrial production equipment, including motors, drives, sensors, control panels, instrumentation, and related components.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automated systems.
- Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment and assist with identifying issues related to inputs, outputs, sensors, relays, motor controls, and control logic.
- Inspect, test, maintain, and repair electrical systems up to the appropriate plant voltage level based on training, qualifications, and company safety procedures.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, ladder logic, wiring diagrams, blueprints, equipment manuals, and work orders to complete maintenance tasks safely and accurately.
- Troubleshoot and repair production equipment failures in a timely manner to reduce downtime and support operational targets.
- Perform mechanical repairs including bearings, chains, belts, gearboxes, pumps, valves, conveyors, and other production-related equipment.
- Support hydraulic and pneumatic troubleshooting, repair, and replacement of components such as cylinders, valves, regulators, actuators, hoses, and fittings.
- Assist with installation, start-up, troubleshooting, and commissioning of new or modified equipment.
- Perform equipment inspections and identify potential safety, quality, or reliability concerns before they result in failure.
- Complete work orders, PMs, repairs, and equipment documentation accurately and on time in the maintenance management system.
- Partner with production teammates, leaders, engineering, and maintenance team members to identify root causes and implement effective repairs.

Skills and Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of two years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing, production, or heavy industrial environment.
- Strong electrical troubleshooting skills in an industrial setting.
- Ability to safely troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, equipment manuals, blueprints, and work orders.
- Working knowledge of motors, motor controls, starters, sensors, relays, switches, drives, and control circuits.
- Ability to use basic maintenance tools and testing equipment, including multimeters and other electrical diagnostic tools. - Technical degree, industrial maintenance certificate, electrical certificate, or related vocational training preferred.
- Three or more years of industrial maintenance experience preferred.
- Experience with PLC troubleshooting, industrial automation, HMI systems, variable frequency drives, servo systems, and control systems preferred.
- Experience troubleshooting hydraulic and pneumatic systems in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs and computerized maintenance management systems.
- Ability to perform root cause analysis and recommend long-term corrective actions.
- Experience in aluminum, steel, metals, extrusion, rolling mill, or heavy manufacturing environment preferred.
