Low Voltage Technician
Responsibilities
Install, terminate, and test structured cabling systems, including Cat5e, Cat6, and Cat6A, in commercial and industrial environments.
Perform fiber optic installation, termination, and splicing using fusion or mechanical methods, ensuring high-quality connections.
Run and route low-voltage cabling through walls, ceilings, conduit, and cable tray systems in accordance with NEC and project specifications.
Install and terminate patch panels, racks, jacks, and related network equipment to support data and communication systems.
Test and certify copper and fiber cabling using appropriate testing equipment such as OTDRs and power meters, and document test results.
Support installation and troubleshooting of low-voltage systems including CCTV, access control, and fire alarm cabling.
Pull, label, and neatly dress cables to maintain organized and professional installations.
Use ladders, lifts, and other equipment to access ceilings, crawl spaces, equipment rooms, and other confined or elevated areas safely.
Handle and install equipment and materials, regularly lifting and carrying approximately 20-50 lbs.
Follow safety procedures, project plans, and company standards to complete work accurately and on schedule.
Collaborate with team members and supervisors to coordinate tasks, resolve issues, and ensure high-quality project completion.
Essential Skills
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Ability to work at heights using ladders and lifts and to access ceilings, crawl spaces, equipment rooms, and confined areas.
Ability to regularly lift, carry, and install equipment and materials weighing approximately 20-50 lbs.

The pay range for this position is $35000.00 - $45000.00/yr.
