Broadstaff is hiring on behalf of our client, a growing leader in fiber network construction, for an experienced
FTTH Construction Manager to help build and scale projects in the Columbus, OH market.
This is a
hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in the field, knows how to lead crews, solve problems in real-time, and take ownership of delivering projects safely, on time, and on budget.

What Youâll Be Doing
As a Construction Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing daily FTTH construction operations while working closely with project management and field teams.
This is NOT a sit-in-the-truck role â we are looking for a leader who is in the field, supporting crews, solving issues, and driving execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Field Leadership & Execution
- Lead daily construction activities across FTTH projects
- Coordinate and manage construction supervisors and subcontractors
- Jump in and support crews when needed to keep projects moving
Safety & Compliance
- Lead weekly safety meetings (tailgates)
- Ensure daily JSAs are completed for all crews
- Promote and enforce a strong safety culture
Project Coordination
- Partner closely with Project Managers to ensure project success
- Review designs, identify issues, and coordinate corrections with engineering
- Provide real-time updates on risks (materials, design, crews)
Quality & Reporting
- Oversee daily reporting, billing, and documentation (photos, notes, inspections)
- Review and approve daily logs and system inputs (Procore or similar)
- Ensure street sheets are completed and distributed daily
Customer & Stakeholder Management
- Represent the company with clients, municipalities, and the public
- Handle and resolve property owner concerns professionally and promptly
- Maintain a strong, professional presence in the field
Training & Development
- Ensure subcontractors are properly trained on:
- Network construction standards
- Billing procedures
- Safety practices
Issue Resolution
- Manage damage reports and drive corrective actions
- Respond quickly to utility strikes and escalate appropriately
- Step in for Project Manager when needed on calls and meetings
Work Environment
- Based out of a field office at the project site
- Approx. 90% field / 10% office
- Fast-paced, team-driven environment where coordination and communication are critical

- Proven leader of field teams and subcontractors
- Strong problem-solving ability in live construction environments
- Comfortable being hands-on in the field daily
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining quality and safety
