Project Manager â AT&T Optical Transport (OTV)

Overview
We are seeking a
highly experienced Project Manager to support Cienaâs AT&T account, specifically within the
AT&T Optical Transport (OTV) program. This is a
client-facing role requiring direct interaction with AT&T stakeholders and strong familiarity with AT&T processes, systems, and delivery expectations.
This individual will manage telecom network initiatives related to
optical transport infrastructure, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end project management for AT&T optical transport / OTV initiatives
- Serve as the primary interface between Ciena and AT&T stakeholders
- Manage project scope, timelines, risks, and deliverables
- Oversee financial tracking, forecasting, and budget management
- Drive status reporting, executive updates, and stakeholder communications
- Coordinate cross-functional teams including engineering, deployment, and operations
- Ensure alignment with AT&T processes, compliance standards, and toolsets
- Proactively identify risks/issues and drive resolution
Required Experience (Must-Have)
- Direct experience managing projects within AT&T OTV / Optical Transport programs
- Strong understanding of telecom network infrastructure (optical transport, fiber, etc.)
- Proven experience as a client-facing Project Manager in a Tier 1 telecom environment
- Strong financial acumen (budgeting, forecasting, cost tracking)
- Experience working with large vendors (Ciena, Nokia, Ericsson, etc.) in telecom delivery
- Deep familiarity with AT&T systems, workflows, and governance
Nice to Have
- Prior experience working with Ciena
- PMP or equivalent certification
- Experience in network deployment, turn-up, or validation/testing environments
Important Notes
- This is NOT a data center role
- Client is extremely selective â only candidates with direct AT&T OTV experience will be considered
- Ideal candidates have recent, hands-on experience inside AT&T programs
