Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Fiber Technician to support new market builds across Florida and Georgia. This role is responsible for installing, splicing, testing, and maintaining fiber optic systems in residential environments. The ideal candidate has hands-on FTTH experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and a customer-focused mindset.
Key Responsibilities
Splice and terminate fiber optic cables in accordance with company and industry standards
Test and measure signal strength using OTDR, Optical Power Meters (OPM), and other tools
Install FTTH services, including drops, inside wiring, and customer-premise equipment
Identify and connect appropriate cables at vaults/taps and perform service activations
Troubleshoot fiber, network, and equipment issues from street to customer location
Maintain and service vaults, taps, and related infrastructure
Operate hand tools (drills, saws) and testing equipment (OPM, VOM)
Communicate professionally with customers, team members, and leadership
Travel to job sites using a company vehicle while adhering to safety guidelines
Access infrastructure via ladders, crawl spaces, attics, and outdoor terrain
Maintain tools, equipment, and complete required documentation
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
Hands-on experience with fiber optic installation and support (FTTH preferred)
Fiber fusion splicing and OTDR testing experience
Strong understanding of telecommunications installations (fiber, CATV, or telephone)
Valid driver's license with a safe driving record
Ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and in various environmental conditions
Strong communication and customer service skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with cable installation and troubleshooting
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
Knowledge of service order workflows
IPTV / ADSL installation and repair experience
Familiarity with industry construction standards and specifications
Basic networking, computer, and electrical knowledge
Work Environment

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $27.50/hr.
