JOB SUMMARY
Operate heavy equipment, usually on a bridge construction jobsite. Travel from jobsite to jobsite in Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Arkansas or Missouri. This job is located in Red Oak, IA. Work Monday to Friday, and some weekends, usually 40-50 hours. Overnight stays may be required at the company's expense.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Inspect and maintain equipment to prevent malfunctions or damage
- Operate the equipment skillfully and safely in conformance with OSHA regulations
- Cut, sidehill cut, ditch dig, slot doze, backfill, clear and grub and finish
- Demolish, clear and level jobsites of old bridges, buildings, trees, shrubs, earth, rocks, concrete, etc.
- Use hydraulic hoses, wedge-pin hitches and cable-operated blades
- Maneuver the machine by using levers and pedals to raise and lower or tilt the attachment
- Lower terrain by following grade stakes or hand signals
- Detect and adjust defects in equipment and perform minor repairs using grease gun, oil can and hand tools
- Work safely by using a bi-directional signal, headache rack/brush guard, seat belt and rollover protection
- Read and interpret Safety Data Sheets and container labels
- Identify and communicate safety concerns to management in a timely manner
- Operate other equipment and perform other duties as assigned

Job Requirements
Education, Experience & Certification
- High School graduate or G.E.D. preferred
- Valid driver’s license
- Experience operating construction equipment
Physical
- Normal range of vision and hearing (with correction)
- Dexterous use of hands and feet
- Climb in and out of equipment unassisted
- Effectively work at heights
- Walk, stand, climb, bend, kneel, reach, lift and balance
- Lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Work safely in adverse weather conditions including wind, rain, snow, ice, mud, heat, etc.
