Overview:
Assists the Director of Construction on assigned construction projects. Reviews project costs and reports budget variances to project manager. Reviews cost proposals for change order work to evaluate accuracy and fairness of pricing. Evaluates competitive bids to identify best value bidder. Prepares and executes Interim Life Safety Plans and Infection Control Risk Assessments. Prepares scopes of services for the accusation of purchase orders and contracts. Verifies contractor and vendor compliance with contract terms. Works in collaboration with the UF Health Manager of Quality and Preventive Maintenance for inventorying and establishing preventative maintenance measures for new equipment and building components installed or purchased under construction projects including medical equipment and FF&E. Coordinates training of owner staff on new systems and equipment. The APM is expected to successfully manage a moderate to heavy workload of projects requiring technical and practical knowledge, utilizing insight and good judgement on projects of varying levels of difficulty and utilizing good interpersonal and management skills.
Qualifications:
Required Education:
High school diploma or GED
Preferred Education:
B.S. in Building Construction or Construction Management. Five (5) years of construction supervisory experience can substitute for degree.

Required Experience:
Minimum of three (3) years of commercial construction experience and general knowledge of all phases of commercial construction and building codes, including Florida Building Code and NFPA standards.
Preferred Experience:
Experience in healthcare construction is preferred. Knowledge of codes and standards specific to healthcare construction preferred. Experience with Microsoft Project or other scheduling software is also preferred.
Necessary Skills:
1. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
2. Must have professional verbal/ written communication skills.
