Senior Communications Tech
The Senior Communications Tech supports OPPD's mission by installing, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting advanced communications technologies essential to District operations. In this senior level role, you help ensure that OPPD's communication systemsi ncluding land mobile radio, microwave and fiber transmission networks, and telephone and data systemsremain dependable, safe, and fully operational. Your technical expertise strengthens system performance, supports timely restoration efforts, and contributes to reliable service for the communities OPPD serves.
The Impact You'll Have
Install, operate, and maintain a wide range of communication systems including mobile radios, base stations, microwave equipment, fiber optics, telephone, data, and intercom systems.
Troubleshoot complex communication issues to support reliable performance across District operations.
Test, repair, and rebuild communication equipment to ensure systems remain effective and dependable.
Identify and resolve customer radio and television interference concerns.
Support restoration of failed equipment, including responding whenever needed to maintain continuity of service.
Perform all duties in alignment with District safety policies while maintaining consistent and dependable attendance.
Fulfill operational requirements, including meeting access standards for secure facilities and supporting ongoing communication needs.
Qualifications

Must Have
Requires an Associates Degree in electronics technology or a related discipline and a minimum of 5 years
Experience in an area similar to the above listed requirements or 7+ years of equivalent work experience.
Must be available for overtime work
Requires a valid driver's license.
