Job Title: Rolling Stock Maintenance Technician
Location: Pearl City, Hawaii
Type: Direct Hire
Compensation: $28.65/hour

Hours: 40.0 hours per week
Responsibilities
Perform corrective, preventive, and unscheduled maintenance, inspection, adjustments, testing, cleaning, lubrication, and proper maintenance on assigned Passenger Vehicle (PV) electro-mechanical equipment in accordance with wiring diagrams, schematics, operations manuals, and manufacturers maintenance instructions.
Observe PV electro-mechanical components in operation to detect potential failures and locate causes of malfunction.
Respond to malfunctions and complete repairs as assigned.
Perform troubleshooting, system and subsystem diagnosis, and resolution to support field technicians.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and related information using a computerized maintenance management system.
Analyze log files to troubleshoot complex issues and recommend corrective actions and improvements.
Perform re-railing tasks and re-railing equipment maintenance following training and qualifications.
Drive trains in MSF in accordance with training and qualifications.
Drive work vehicles during emergencies and on-duty responses.
Operate OTE to move trains in and out of the shop and for wheel truing activities.
Operate wheel truing machines, wheel presses, train lifts, and related MSF equipment according to training and qualifications.
Support on-site spare parts management and repair cycle.
Prepare fleet performance maintenance technical reports.
Create work blocks and job hazard analyses for planned work.
Conduct job and safety briefings as needed.
Complete operational, failure, safety, and other reports as required.
Participate in training programs and ensure safety procedures are followed.
Use electronic test equipment, power tools, and specialized hand tools.
Ensure maintenance records are collected and monitored daily maintenance performance.
Verify conformance to technical specifications and operational tolerances.
Identify failure trends early to prevent fleet downtime.
Perform simple failure analysis and technical investigations.
Execute corrective and preventive maintenance in compliance with safety policies and local regulations.
Follow all maintenance procedures, safety, quality, and environmental standards.
Perform health check procedures before putting vehicles into service.
Maintain sufficient materials, tools, and calibrated equipment for maintenance activities.
Support the monitoring of day-to-day maintenance performance.
Implement safety standards for rolling stock and first-line response maintenance.
Work shift rotations including weekends and holidays, supporting major infrastructure projects and transit operations.
Perform cross-functional duties on related track and third rail systems, including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, as qualified.
Requirements
1-3 years of relevant experience in railway equipment and environment.
Knowledge of testing and fault finding techniques.
Understanding of maintenance technologies and railway safety rules and regulations.
Proficiency in the use of maintenance tools.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
High School diploma or Bachelor's Degree in a technical field or equivalent technical background.
Proficient in English.
