Job Title: Heavy Equipment Operator
Responsibilities
As an Equipment Operator, you operate heavy equipment to support excavation, grading, trenching, and material handling, on active construction projects. You work closely with the Superintendent and field crew to maintain safe, efficient job-site operations while contributing to the successful delivery of each project.
Key Responsibilities
Operate heavy construction equipment such as excavators, loaders, skid steers, and other equipment used for trenching, grading, and material handling.
Support excavation and trenching activities for underground pipe installation and site preparation.
Perform grading, backfilling, and general earthwork tasks as directed by the foreman or supervisor.
Conduct daily equipment inspections and perform basic preventative maintenance.
Assist field crews with labor tasks when needed to keep work progressing efficiently.
Follow company safety procedures and maintain a strong focus on jobsite safety.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the foreman, superintendent, or supervisor.
Essential Skills
At least 4 years of experience as a heavy equipment operator.
Experience operating excavators, loaders, skid steers, and dozers.
Experience in commercial or heavy civil construction.
Hands-on experience in earthworks and general construction activities.
Ability to perform concrete-related tasks, including pouring and basic finishing.
Ability to read and work with GPS-guided equipment (GPS experience).
Experience working safely on active construction sites as part of a field crew.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
4+ years of commercial or heavy civil construction experience.
Concrete, landscaping, or pipe laying experience is preferred.
Experience with water or wastewater projects is beneficial.
Interest in learning additional skills such as welding, advanced equipment operation, concrete work, and piping.

Work Environment
You work on a project involving a filter change at a water treatment facility, operating in a semi-indoor setting within the plant. The role is field-based and hands-on, with regular use of heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, skid steers, and dozers, as well as tools for concrete and material handling. You are consistently part of a team of four or more people while working inside the facility, fostering a cooperative and safety-focused atmosphere.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Lupton, CO.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr.
