Eaton's IS VEH VGGP division is currently seeking a Garage Services Manager. This is a full time, on-site position based at our Marshall, MI campus.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $84000 - $123000 a year. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Eaton announced, on January 26, 2026, the intent to separate its Mobility Group (including both the Vehicle and eMobility segments) into an independent, publicly traded company. We expect to complete the separation by the end of the first quarter of 2027. The compensation and benefits that will initially be offered for this position are based on Eaton's plans, programs and practices. If you are offered and accept this position and are actively employed by the Mobility Group when the spinoff closes, the new company will provide further details to employees concerning compensation and benefits at that time.
What you'll do:
The Garage Services Manager oversees all day-to-day operations of the garages and workshop facilities within an automotive proving ground environment. This role ensures that test vehicles, equipment, and support assets are maintained, serviced, and prepared to meet the demanding requirements of customer engineering test programs. The Garage Services Manager provides leadership to a team of technicians and support staff, coordinates with test engineers and facility operations, and ensures safety, efficiency, and accuracy in all garage operations.
Manage daily garage operations including vehicle intake, maintenance, and test preparation.
Lead and develop a team of technicians and support personnel.
Provide technical guidance on test vehicle preparation and prototype handling.Ensure safety compliance and maintain a safe working environment.
Coordinate/support with engineering teams and facility staff to support testing schedules.Manage budgets, assets, and equipment maintenance records.
Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
Computer literacy applies in the areas of Word, Excel, Outlook, test equipment control, data acquisition and analysis software.
Ability to function in a high stress environment including meeting aggressive deadlines, direct customer oversight, schedule / priority changes. Managing and prioritizing multiple assignments
Complies with and provides ideas for improvement on the policies, procedures, and expectations outlined by Eaton's Management System for the Environment, Safety, Security, and Health (MESH) and Quality Management Systems.
Vehicle operation and evaluation for proper equipment/device function.
Qualifications:
Required Basic Qualifications:
Minimum Associates Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution + 2 years experience in a technical laboratory/garage setting OR High School Diploma/GED equivalent from an accredited institution + 5 years experience working in a technical laboratory/garage setting
Must have a valid drivers license

Preferred Qualifications:
ASE Mechanic Certification
Experience in an automotive proving ground, fleet testing, R&D facility or similar environment
Vehicle Dynamics experience
Experience conducting sub-limit vehicle tests/evaluations
Skills:
Demonstrated ability to operate test equipment, machine hydraulics, data acquisition and inspection equipment.
A high degree of mechanical aptitude. Demonstrated fabrication proficiency including lathe, mill, welding.
Proficient vehicle mechanical & electrical skills - assembly, troubleshooting, modification.
Strong communication skills - oral / presentation & written.
Organizational and time-management skills.
High attention to detail and sense of urgency in completing tasks accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced work environment. Completing tasks by due date is required.
Effective use of current technology along with the learning and application of new technology.
Basic mathematics, graph reading, and calculations are required.
Consistency in work methods. Executes tasks in a repeatable fashion.
Proficient with installation & setup of vehicle instrumentation including torque wheels, brake pressure, inertial measurement systems, Anthony Best robot systems.
Proficient with in vehicle data acquisition setup including CAN network configuration & Vector tools
Existing limit handling driver certification.
Working with ambiguity. Ability to analyze deliverable and determine path to achievement.
