The EHS Construction Senior Specialist is the primary onsite EHS partner and oversight authority representing Fleet for the project reporting to the EHS Construction Manager. This role supervises the EHS Construction Specialists for both PR and SV. Developing partnerships with all levels of organizations verifying that EHS Management Systems are being adhered to and documented. The position will focus on ensuring that high-risk work is planned correctly, controlled effectively, and executed safely, especially during periods of known elevated risk such as energization, commissioning, and construction to operations handover.
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced EHS Construction Senior Specialist to provide daily oversight of EHS performance for the General Contractor and all subcontractors at our Fleet Data construction site. This critical role involves championing our top-level EHS policy, fostering a strong on-site safety culture, and ensuring implementation and verification of EHS programs, particularly High-Risk Activities. The successful candidate will be a visible leader, dedicated to preventing incidents and driving continuous improvement in safety performance.
Approximately 85% of the time will be spent in the field.
Job Responsibilities:
EHS Oversight & Contractor Management
Contractor Compliance with High Risk Activities (HRAs)
EHS Program Assurance
· Ensure full compliance with all federal, state, local, and international EHS regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA, specific country regulations).
EHS Program Leadership and Culture
· Support emergency preparedness by participating in emergency response drills, tabletop exercises, and post‑emergency reviews, ensuring lessons learned are embedded into site controls and procedures.
· Ensure scheduled post‑incident “look‑back” audits (e.g., 30–60 days after events) are conducted to verify that corrective actions remain effective and have not been bypassed by the workforce.
Basic Qualifications
Education: 4 Year degree, OSHA 500, OSHA 30, Professional Certification: ASP, CHST, or similar preferred.
Current CPR/First Aid/AED certification
Years Experience in Construction EHS: 5-7
Preferred Qualifications (nice-to-haves that would be identified during the screening process)
Bachelor’s degree in environmental health and safety or related technical field.
Strong background in creating positive engagements and solution driven outcomes regardless of company, position or title.
Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
Previous experience in supporting the Program Owner
Previous OCIP experience
Annual Compensation Range: $110,000–$130,000 Base Salary + Discretionary Bonus
Travel Expectations: less than 5%
