Position Summary
We are seeking aLead Service Technicianto support and elevate our field service operations. This role serves as a working leader-responsible for performing advanced repairs and preventative maintenance while guiding and supporting Service Technicians in the field.
This position is ideal for a mechanically inclined professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys hands-on work, and takes pride in mentoring others while delivering exceptional service.
Responsibilities Include but Are Not Limited To
Service & Technical Execution
Perform preventative maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on vending, micro-market, coffee, and breaktime equipment
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration-related issues and determine root causes
Handle complex or escalated service calls requiring advanced technical expertise
Assist with installation, setup, and calibration of equipment as needed
Leadership & Team Support
Serve as a lead resource for Service Technicians, providing guidance on troubleshooting and repairs
Support onboarding and training of new technicians in field operations and company standards
Conduct ride-alongs and reinforce safety, service, and operational expectations
Assist Service Manager with daily scheduling priorities and workload distribution
Operations & Inventory Management
Maintain accurate inventory of parts, tools, and supplies on service vehicles and within the warehouse
Ensure all service calls are properly documented, including repairs, parts usage, and follow-ups
Identify recurring equipment issues and communicate trends to leadership
Maintain company vehicles, tools, and workspaces in a clean, organized, and safe manner
Customer Experience
Deliver exceptional service while representing Five Star at client locations
Communicate effectively with customers regarding service needs, repairs, and resolutions
Address and resolve service concerns with a sense of urgency and professionalism
What We're Looking For
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade school preferred
2+ years of experience in equipment service, vending, HVAC, refrigeration, or related field
Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
Experience with refrigeration systems preferred
Prior leadership, mentoring, or lead technician experience strongly preferred
Ability to lift 50 pounds repeatedly and up to 100 pounds occasionally
Frequent bending, reaching, and stooping required
Must be at least 21 years old (DOT requirement)
Valid driver's license with the ability to obtain and maintain a DOT medical card
Ability to operate company service vehicles and work in varied environments (warehouse, customer sites, outdoors)
Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
Must pass pre-employment background check and drug screen
