This is an exempt level position.
Position Summary:
This position oversees a team of electricians and contract electrical personnel to ensure the facility maintains a safe, reliable, and efficient electrical system. Reporting to the Electrical Superintendent, this role collaborates closely with department superintendents and supervisors to plan, coordinate, and execute electrical work that supports operational goals.
The role plays a key part in driving electrical reliability initiatives, proactively minimizing maintenance costs and preventing unplanned equipment downtime. In addition to technical oversight, this position provides strong leadership to the electrical team - actively managing performance, developing employee skills, and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement through consistent, fair, and constructive feedback.
Position Responsibilities:
Plan, coordinate, and ensure the effective execution of scheduled and unscheduled electrical maintenance, repair, and installation work to support safe and reliable facility operations.
Supervise and lead the day-to-day activities of electrical employees and contract electricians, ensuring work is completed efficiently, safely, and in alignment with operational priorities.
Enforce compliance with all electrical safety standards, lockout/tagout procedures, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements; promote a strong safety culture through active observation and engagement.
Partner with department leadership to prioritize maintenance and repair activities, minimize downtime, and ensure equipment monitoring and maintenance practices align with operational and business needs.
Coach, mentor, and develop employees through regular feedback, performance evaluations, and training; address performance, attendance, and behavioral issues in a consistent, fair, and constructive manner.
Utilize Maximo and other computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to plan work, track labor and materials, maintain accurate records, and support data-driven decision-making and reporting.
Monitor and evaluate completed work for quality, productivity, adherence to safe work practices, and compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and company standards.
Identify opportunities to improve electrical system reliability and maintenance efficiency; support implementation of preventive and predictive maintenance strategies to reduce costs and unplanned outages.
Ensure compliance with all food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements, maintaining adherence to company policies and applicable industry standards.
Collaborate cross-functionally with maintenance, engineering, and operations teams to support continuous improvement initiatives and capital projects.
Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned to support departmental and organizational objectives.
Position Requirements:
Demonstrated ability to establish, communicate, and uphold clear expectations related to safety, equipment reliability, product quality, service levels, and workforce productivity.
Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex situations, identify root causes, and implement effective, timely solutions.
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize competing demands, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to clearly convey information, provide direction, and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
Proficiency in computer systems, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), such as IBM Maximo or similar platforms.
Proven supervisory and leadership experience, with the ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team while fostering a collaborative and accountable work environment.
Strong interpersonal skills with a customer-focused mindset; ability to effectively manage conflict, influence others, actively listen, and build productive working relationships across departments.
Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and execute work proactively, with a focus on continuous improvement and equipment reliability.
Flexibility and willingness to work non-standard hours, including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as needed to support operations.
Ability to respond to emergency situations, including equipment breakdowns, and work overtime as required to restore safe and efficient operations.
Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and complying with all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Education/Training Requirements:
High school diploma or GED required.
Associate's degree or technical certification in Electrical, Mechanical, Instrumentation, or a related field preferred.
Experience Requirements:
Minimum of five (5) years of hands-on experience in industrial electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment and systems.
Strong working knowledge of electrical systems, including motors, drives, control systems, and power distribution in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred, with a demonstrated ability to lead teams, coordinate work activities, and drive performance.
Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), including troubleshooting, programming, and diagnostics, is highly desirable.
Familiarity with preventive and predictive maintenance practices and reliability-centered maintenance principles.
Experience using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to track work orders, maintenance history, and equipment performance is preferred.
Proven ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced industrial environment while maintaining a strong focus on safety and quality.

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.
