At Telcom Construction, as a Technician Field Make Ready Inspector, you are responsible for identifying potential issues, verifying existing utility locations, and conducting site assessments to prevent delays or safety violations.
Identifying obstructions and make ready work that must happen before construction can begin
Perform comprehensive field inspections of OSP infrastructure, including aerial, buried, and underground fiber/copper networks, to ensure all elements meet construction, safety
Collaborate with field crews, supervisors, project managers and customer teams to resolve issues identified during the inspection process
Strong ability to read and interpret construction blueprints, network diagrams, GIS maps
Generate precise inspection reports, documenting all findings, including defects, non-compliance issues, and required corrective actions (redlines)
Working knowledge of OSP construction techniques, practices, and materials for aerial and underground utilities
Proficiency with measurement tools, testing equipment, and electronic devices (e.g., tablet, GPS devices) for field data collection
Follow installation milestones and support project activities as directed by management
Work overtime, travel, and handle on-call or after-hours responsibilities as needed, and perform duties in all weather conditions
