Quality Manager â Wire & Cable Manufacturing

Broadstaff is partnering with a leading wire and fiber cable manufacturing company to hire a Quality Manager. This role oversees all quality assurance and quality control activities across the manufacturing lifecycle, supporting products used in critical power transmission and telecommunications infrastructure.

This is a hands?on leadership role for someone with deep experience in wire & cable manufacturing, ISO compliance, and technical testing environments.
Job Summary
The Quality Manager is responsible for managing the Quality Management System (QMS) and ensuring all products meet industry standards, customer requirements, and internal quality objectives. The role leads audits, drives continuous improvement, and partners closely with production, engineering, and leadership teams to maintain high?performance manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities Quality Management & Compliance

• Own and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with ISO 9001
• Lead internal, customer, regulatory, and third?party audits (e.g., UL, ETL)
• Ensure ongoing adherence to industry and customer standards

Wire & Cable Quality Oversight

• Oversee quality control and testing for wire and cable products, including:
  • Fiber optic cable
  • Power and control conductors
  • Metal?based cable products (e.g., OPGW, ACSR, AAC, AAAC)
• Monitor in?process quality checkpoints during:
  • Extrusion
  • Cabling
  • Jacketing
  • Final inspection
• Ensure compliance with applicable standards (ASTM, IEC, BS, and others)

Continuous Improvement

• Analyze quality data and performance trends
• Lead corrective and preventive actions to reduce defects, scrap, and rework
• Support Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives

Leadership & Collaboration

• Lead, train, and mentor quality technicians and inspectors
• Collaborate with production, engineering, procurement, and leadership teams
• Interface directly with customers on quality issues, audits, and corrective actions

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain accurate quality records, test results, and audit documentation
• Prepare detailed reports including root cause analysis and improvement plans

Required Qualifications

• Bachelorâs degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field
• 5+ years of quality leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
• Wire & cable manufacturing experience strongly preferred
• Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001
• Experience with electrical and mechanical cable testing methods
• Proven root cause analysis and problem?solving skills
• Strong communication and leadership abilities

Preferred Qualifications

• ASQ certification (CQE, CQA, or equivalent)
• Experience with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies
• Familiarity with telecom or power cable standards
• Experience using QMS, ERP, and quality data analysis tools
