Job Description
Supervisor, Maintenance and Facilities
Position Summary
The Maintenance Manager will oversee the repairs, installations and upkeep of various buildings, production equipment, offices, and any other applicable facilities. Their main duties include designing maintenance procedures, tracking budgets and expenses and performing inspections on different facilities to find problems and make repairs.
Principle Responsibilities
Perform a wide variety of maintenance work projects involving the maintenance of plant machinery and equipment, including modifications to existing machinery/equipment to improve design and efficiency and to ensure all production equipment is operating at maximum potential in support of manufacturing.
Responsible for maintenance and improvement of building facilities systems and grounds and ensure facility equipment and manufacturing site meets all regulatory and safety requirements.
Evaluates maintenance requests and determine whether repairs require OEM help and licensed contractors as needed, also responsible for monitoring work of all outside contractors to ensure work is being completed in accordance with safety and quality standards.
Perform related work, under the direction of the General Manager, within the limits of established policies.
Responsible for carrying out maintenance projects including the modification of equipment, machines such as Swiss, Mills, Millturns, Grinders, Laser welders, Laser Etchers, EDMs, Cleaning equipment, and facilities in the plant, to improve efficiency, and contribute to manufacturing effort of producing quality precision products, involving constructing, modifying, and maintaining plant facilities such as water towers, HVAC systems, electrical systems of machinery, air compressor equipment, heavy production machinery for mill products, clean room, high pressure gas systems and water systems.
Creates reliability plans and critical spare list to minimize machine downtime
Responsible executing, maintaining and assisting in the timely and effective performance of all preventative and predictive maintenance programs
Implements, performs and assists in the replacement and ordering of any worn parts as required and change oils, filters, etc. as scheduled in the service log.
Interfaces with manufacturing and operations for the installation, layout changes, and service providing for all production equipment and ancillary items
Evaluates, manages, and mentors a group of maintenance and facilities staff to ensure adherence of performance metrics as well as quality control monitoring
Owns and executes all safety policies and regulations including but not limited to, good saves program, safety concerns, management of vendors for safety issues and/or replenishment of safety kits, leads safety meetings, leads and organizes safety awareness throughout the site.
Performs emergency maintenance on a 24-hour basis when on call. Coordinate on-call schedule with all maintenance employees
Credentials/Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in engineering, administration, or facility management preferred
Minimum experience of 5 years in manufacturing
3 years in a supervisory role
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems
Familiarity in drafting and understanding blueprints and schematics
Effective communication and people management skills
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
Ability to evaluate and resolve maintenance problems
Ability to adhere to safety and quality procedures
