Job Title: Maintenance Planner
Job Description
The Maintenance Planner is responsible for coordinating, scheduling, and preparing all maintenance activities to ensure equipment reliability, regulatory compliance, and efficient workflow throughout the facility. This role supports maintenance leadership, production teams, and technicians by providing clear work plans, accurate parts sourcing, and proactive planning that minimizes downtime and improves overall plant performance.
Responsibilities
Develop and distribute daily work plans for area and facility managers.
Review work requests for clarity, scope, and craft requirements; prioritize tasks with maintenance and production leadership.
Generate daily and shift-based listings of work orders, PMs, and TBMs.
Provide departments with updated PM schedules and ensure timely completion.
Schedule all critical compliance work orders, including metal detectors, X-ray, ladder inspections, guarding, door safety, and crane inspections.
Ensure annual Lockout/Tagout audit verifications are completed.
Lead weekly maintenance planning meetings.
Coordinate daily and weekend maintenance priorities with Maintenance and Production Managers.
Research, source, and order parts and materials for work orders, PMs, and TBMs.
Pre-stage and kit all required parts and materials for scheduled work.
Evaluate and stock parts required for new equipment installations.
Collaborate with vendors on new equipment installs and ensure recommended spares are stocked.
Continuously evaluate inventory to add, modify, or remove stock as needed.
Request and schedule part orders for rebuilds and improvement projects.
Identify cost-saving opportunities for sourced parts and equipment.
Collect data and update PM procedures based on feedback from maintenance leadership and technicians.
Schedule and support CI (Continuous Improvement) project activities.
Order and kit materials for CI initiatives.
Ensure accurate data entry in SharePoint and maintain complete weekly reports.
Support downtime reduction efforts and implementation of best practices.
Lead or assist with machine rebuilds and major equipment repairs.
Support production startups and provide on-floor guidance to maintenance technicians.
Assist with troubleshooting and resolving maintenance-related issues.
Support training efforts, including proper Lockout/Tagout procedures.
Essential Skills
Minimum 10 years of experience as a Maintenance Technician.
Strong mechanical aptitude with basic electrical knowledge.
Familiarity with all plant equipment, systems, and parts inventory processes.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Proficiency with computers and software such as Excel, PowerPoint, and related maintenance systems.
Must have personal hand tools and a mobile tool chest (list provided).

Work Environment
The position requires the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English. You must be comfortable working on the production floor 95% of the time and able to lift up to 40 lbs safely. The role involves performing repetitive motions including bending, twisting, kneeling, squatting, climbing, and grasping. The schedule includes weekend work and is structured with a 1st Shift from 5am to 5pm, alternating between 60 hours one week and 36 hours the next week.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
