Job Title: Fiber Technician Job Description
Join a collaborative team of 3-4 individuals dedicated to assisting with underground fiber installations. This position involves working on Outside Plant (OSP) projects, installing fiber between two data centers. You will assist underground workers in fiber installation and operation of fiber jetting equipment, monitor gas meters, gather supplies, move equipment, and maintain site cleanliness. The role requires general labor and heavy lifting, making commercial construction experience essential. Telecom and fiber installation experience is a significant advantage.
Responsibilities
Assist with underground fiber installations.
Support underground workers with fiber and fiber jetting equipment operations.
Monitor gas meters and gather necessary supplies.
Move and organize equipment around the site.
Maintain site cleanliness.
Perform general labor tasks and engage in heavy lifting.
Essential Skills
Experience in commercial construction.
Ability to perform general labor and heavy lifting tasks.
Possession of OSHA 10 certification is beneficial.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in telecom and fiber installation is advantageous.
Ability to operate equipment is a plus.
Close quarter OSHA training is highly beneficial.
Must have reliable transportation and be able to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check.
