JOB SUMMARY
Oversees the operations, budget, and maintenance of critical building and equipment, including new construction. Focuses on maintenance of building and grounds of an organization, overseeing staff, and the upkeep of equipment and supplies. Ensures overall operational performance readiness, reliability and integrity of critical infrastructure systems throughout the organization. Manages the supportive services for physical asset construction and maintenance. Develops plans to keep the buildings and surrounding campus at the highest level of reliability. Plans, organizes, develops and directs construction and building maintenance in accordance with policies, procedures, current Federal, State and local standards.
JOB DUTIES
Responsible for hiring, coaching, training, and performance management of staff.
Frequently interacts with reporting supervisors, customers, and/or functional peer group managers, normally involving matters between functional areas or customers.
Responsible for the management of subordinate staff within a department. Typically has individual contributors as direct reports, but could have supervisory direct reports. Has full responsibility for direct reports.
Generally provides input to budgeting and financial decisions that impact the department. Requests approval for financial actions beyond a limited scope.
ADDITIONAL JOB DUTIES
Performs installations, preventive maintenance, and repairs on buildings, mechanical equipment and utility systems using one or more trade skills (e.g., electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry)
Scheduling repairs, renovations projects, waste reduction improvements, and safety inspections
Negotiating with outside vendors/contractors for supplies, repairs, and capital purchases
Overseeing services related to electric maintenance, mechanics, hydraulics, carpentry and masonry, substituting, changing, cleaning, repairing and installing pieces, components and equipment
Ensuring operating requirements, building codes, and safety regulations are met
Develops policies, procedures and methodologies for the reliable operation of the building infrastructure, landscaping and related support equipment
Prepares and maintains records of completed maintenance repair work
Maintains and reviews vendor designs, blueprints, plans and proposals to ensure compliance with agreed upon specifications
Ensures that Federal, State, Environmental and OSHA regulations followed
Provides budget analysis for higher management with physical infrastructure responsibility
Ensures that all safety and maintenance policies and procedures are followed
Maintains working knowledge of all physical systems such as plumbing, lighting, electrical.
Researches future trends in the industry and remains expert in the technology
Provides technical assistance to other departments
Establishes and maintains strong working relationships with staff members in other departments
Responsible for the initiation, planning and execution of construction and building improvement projects
EXPERIENCE
Requires minimum 8 years job related work experience and 2 years in a leadership role in excess of degree requirements. Minimum years of job related experience can include time in leadership roles.
Requires minimum 8 years related work experience in facilities management
Extensive hands-on experience in large-scale data center or mission-critical environments
Deep knowledge of electrical distribution systems, including power redundancy, load balancing, and failure modes
Proficiency with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems)
Familiarity with environmental control systems (HVAC/BAS), fire life safety systems, and building automation technologies
Experience with building management systems (BMS), dcTrack or similar infrastructure monitoring tools
EDUCATION
Bachelor's Degree: Electrical Engineering, Facilitates Management, or related field (Required)
or a combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge to a major in such fields is required
CERTIFICATION
Valid Texas Driver's License (Required)
Valid Master Electrician License (Preferred)
Project Management Certification (Preferred)
Trade Certification NICET, LEED (Preferred)
