ABOUT THE ROLE
The Mobile Equipment Manager is responsible for the leadership and management of all mobile equipment and facility-related operations within the quarry. This includes overseeing mobile equipment mechanics and their area leader, inbound material equipment operators, and the facilities team. The facilities team includes millwrights, production support staff, building services technicians (housekeeping), and their respective area leaders. This role ensures that all mobile equipment, maintenance, and facilities operations are executed safely, efficiently, and with a focus on operational reliability, cleanliness, and regulatory compliance.
WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
Lead and manage all mobile equipment operators in the quarry, ensuring efficient and safe operation of haul trucks, loaders, dozers, and other mobile machinery.
Ensure compliance with company safety standards, MSHA regulations, and environmental policies.
Collaborate with production and planning teams to optimize equipment usage and material movement.
Supervise the mobile equipment mechanics and their area leader to ensure timely and effective preventive and corrective maintenance.
Oversee maintenance scheduling, diagnostics, repairs, and parts inventory management to minimize downtime and maximize equipment lifespan.
Lead root cause analysis for recurring issues and implement long-term solutions.
Manage operators responsible for handling inbound materials, ensuring smooth flow and coordination with processing areas.
Monitor material quality and work with quality control and production teams to address any concerns.
Oversee the facilities team, including millwrights, general production support personnel, and their area leader.
Ensure that building and grounds maintenance, facility infrastructure, and utility systems are maintained to a high standard.
Improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the maintenance through managing systems to keep the plant informed about equipment condition, planning projects
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Education: Bachelors degree or 5 years of equivalent direct experience in construction, materials industry
Field of Study Preferred: Business Management
Required Work Experience: 7+ years. Hands on experience with mechanical equipment installation, repair and maintenance, and troubleshoot. Supervisory experience is also desired.
Required Technical Skills: Microsoft Office and SAP
Additional Requirements:
Strong understanding of quarry or mining operations, equipment maintenance, and MSH regulations.
Demonstrated leadership ability with experience managing cross-functional teams.
Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Primarily based at a quarry site with regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions, dust, noise, andheavy equipment.
Requires frequent walking, standing, and occasional lifting of up to 45 lbs.
Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approvedPersonal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Subject to applicablelaw, employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator sealmeets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
