Job Title: Elevator Technician
Job Description
This role involves traveling to various facilities in Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana to perform elevator-related tasks. The majority of work will be in a commercial setting, with some residential projects. Work is scheduled from Monday to Friday, but travel may require being away from home for 2-3 days at a time. Responsibilities include installation, tear downs, new construction, repairs, maintenance, and scheduled service of various elevators, such as commercial, freight, traction elevators, and chair lifts. A company vehicle is provided for travel, and all travel costs, including food, gas, and stay, are covered.
Responsibilities
Travel regionally to various facilities in Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana.
Perform installation, tear downs, and new construction of elevators.
Conduct repairs, maintenance, and scheduled service for commercial and freight elevators, traction elevators, and chair lifts.
Check safety circuits, perform fire service testing, and repair open relays.
Troubleshoot PLCs and conduct maintenance and repairs of motors, including teardowns and replacements.
Work in teams and communicate effectively with customers.
Essential Skills
Electrical troubleshooting
Electrical wiring
Mechanical background
Construction background (HVAC/Apprentice Electrician)
Customer service skills for client interface.
Clean driving record.
Proficient in using hand tools.
Prior experience in equipment installation or maintenance.
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Military experience.
Prior experience as an elevator mechanic.
Completion of the Wind Turbine Program at KVCC.
Experience as a field service technician.

Work Environment
This role involves working in various environments, including industrial settings like paper mills, commercial environments such as office buildings, and new construction sites. Travel constitutes approximately 50% of the job. Field service work is required, with flexibility to work in different locations based on assignments. The hours are typically 7 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, but may extend to meet project deadlines.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
