Job Description

We are seeking security‑cleared Outside Machinists / Trade Helpers with at least 2 years of marine Outside Machinist experience to support submarine maintenance and overhaul work for a federal client. Work will be performed at NNSY.

Responsibilities include repairing and overhauling pumps, valves, and hydraulics; reading drawings; measuring, installing, aligning, and testing materials; installing hatches and covers; and performing grinding, prep, and paint work as needed.

An active or interim DoD Secret clearance is required. Candidates must be open to 1st or 2nd shift, overtime, and travel between shipyards. Schedule is Monday-Saturday, up to 11 hours per day, minimum 40 hours per week, with occasional Sundays.

Day-to-day:

include but are not limited to:

• Will be assigned on a submarine at NNSY

• Will be assisting in overhaul work repairing values, pumps, and Hydraulics on the submarines

-Will install hatches and covers

-Will also need to grind, prep, and paint

Pay Range 25/hr to 32/hr

Skills and Requirements

• 2+ years of Outside Machinist experience (or mechanical experience in the shipyard does not need to be submarines)

-2+ year of experience of reading designs and drawings

-Experience working on valves, pumps, and Hydraulics

-2+ Years of experience with PMI tools like Olliscopes, Calipers, and Gauges

-Experience working on a submarine or naval ships

-Active Secret Clearance
