Mechanical & Robotics Technician Manager
Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical & Robotics Technician Manager to lead onsite technical operations, guide maintenance teams, and ensure the reliability of advanced automated packaging and distribution systems. In this role, you'll serve as a subject‑matter expert for mechanical, electrical, and robotic equipment-driving continuous improvement, supporting complex troubleshooting, and mentoring both service and contract technicians.
This position offers competitive pay ($30-$35/hr) and flexible scheduling, with openings on 1st and 3rd shift across front‑half or back‑half of the week.
Responsibilities
Champion a safe working environment by following and enforcing all safety protocols.
Maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize conveyor systems and automated material-handling equipment.
Lead, train, and mentor technicians while auditing preventative maintenance procedures.
Install, maintain, and troubleshoot:
Relay logic & ladder diagrams
Control components, photo-eyes, motor starters, limit switches
Proximity sensors, solenoids, and related electrical systems
Accurately create and close work orders-including labor hours, parts used, and equipment notes.
Collaborate effectively with cross‑functional partners across facility operations.
Develop training programs and emergency repair strategies for critical assets.
Perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 49 lbs, standing/walking for up to 12 hours (with or without accommodation).
Travel up to 20% as needed for trainings.
Essential Skills
High school diploma or GED required.
Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends, nights, holidays, and multiple shift types.
Minimum 1 year of PC proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Associate degree or higher in Mechanical or Electrical Technology preferred.
5+ years experience in automated conveyor systems & industrial controls.
5+ years experience with electrical/electronic fundamentals, NEC, and industrial electronics.
5+ years conducting preventative maintenance on automated equipment.
5+ years reading and interpreting blueprints and electrical schematics.
5+ years working with PLC-controlled systems.
3+ years experience using work‑order management tools/software.
Completion of a 4-year apprenticeship or equivalent experience.
Proven leadership experience and vendor/contractor coordination.
Hands-on experience with robotics , automated MHE, and industrial safety standards.

Work Environment
Work inside a large, highly automated distribution center featuring advanced robotics and high‑speed equipment. Expect to work on a 10‑hour shift depending on chosen schedule (1st or 3rd shift, front‑half or back‑half). Performance is measured clearly and fairly using data-not micromanagement.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
