We are seeking a skilled and dependable Traveling Security Access Control Technician to support the installation, service, and troubleshooting of electronic security systems across multiple job sites nationwide. This role is ideal for a technician who enjoys travel, working in the field, and supporting projects in commercial and mission-critical environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, program, test, and troubleshoot access control systems, including door hardware, controllers, readers, and power supplies
- Support related security systems such as CCTV, intrusion detection, and intercoms as needed
- Read and interpret drawings, schematics, and project documentation
- Perform system commissioning, testing, and basic programming
- Coordinate with project managers, site contacts, and other trades to ensure smooth execution
- Travel regularly to job sites, including overnight and multi-week assignments
- Maintain a clean, professional presence on customer sites
- Document work completed and report issues or delays to project leadership
Required Qualifications
- Experience installing and supporting access control systems (Verkada, Lenel, Genetec, AMAG, Brivo, or similar platforms)
- Strong understanding of low-voltage wiring and cabling standards
- Ability to work independently in the field with minimal supervision
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working on commercial, enterprise, or mission-critical projects
- Familiarity with CCTV, IP cameras, and networking fundamentals
- Manufacturer certifications (Verkada, Lenel, Genetec, etc.)
- OSHA 10/30, lift certification, or BICSI credentials
