Overview:
Oversees and assists with the assignments of aerial crew employees.
Ensures Company safety policies and practices are followed.
Act as lead for aerial crew employees.
Assists Supervisor with day to day activities.
Reads and implements design prints and other related instructions pertaining to the job.
Maintains proper records for accurate and timely submission of Production Reports.
Perform all aerial crew tasks (set poles and anchors, install/repair aerial cable, etc)
Operates vehicle following all safety and traffic regulations.
Basic daily maintenance of Company vehicle including fluids check, cleanliness vehicle organization.
Other duties as may be assigned.
Safety Responsibilities:
The Foreman shall be responsible for the safety on his or her jobsite; including all employees for the Company and any other employers near the jobsite.
The Foreman shall ensure that the Company Safety and Loss Control Program are followed on the jobsite under their direction.
The Foreman shall ensure that there are no unsafe conditions or unsafe acts at each jobsite under their direction.
The Foreman shall ensure that the necessary safety equipment is available and is in proper working order at each jobsite under their direction.
The Foreman shall ensure all employees under their direction are trained in safe procedures relating to their job.
The Foreman shall conduct periodic safety checks at the jobsite under their direction.
The Foreman shall assist in the investigation of all accidents.
The Foreman shall conduct and document daily tailgate meetings with their crews.
The Foreman shall ensure the safety of each employee under his or her direction.

Qualifications:
Must have a valid driver's license.
A CDL Class A driver's license is preferred.
Must have an understanding of basic and advanced construction principles.
Posses a working knowledge of customer's specifications.
Proficient in all phases of underground construction.
Capable of operating equipment necessary to complete jobs, i.e. digger derrick, bucket truck, backhoe, etc.
Knowledge of Safety Systems associated with Aerial construction including set-up and emergency procedures.
6 months of experience in the utility construction industry
Ability to read prints and interpret utility maps to identify the type and size of underground utilities
Physical Requirements:
Duties outlined in this position will require the employee to stand, crouch, sit, bend, use hands and fingers to handle or feel as well as reaching with hands and arms to spaces both high and low. The employee will be standing, walking, climbing, balancing, crawling, crouching, lifting, holding or stooping while on shift.
Ability to work while wearing safety boots, safety glasses and hardhat
Ability to work in adverse weather conditions which can include but is not limited to: extreme heat and cold temperatures; inclement weather such as wind, rain, snow, sleet and dust as well as adverse driving conditions including wet roads, icy roads, and fog
Employees in this job classification may be exposed to dust, fumes or other airborne pathogens.
Must be able to lift/carry 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 LBS as needed with or without assistance
